Adding A Cron Job

WARNING DO NOT ADD CRON FROM SSH USING CRONTAB -e OR YOUR ENTRIES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN

All Magento stores require a basic set of cron jobs to be set. Each cron job is a task executed according to a schedule.  You may have many cron tasks for your site.

Adding a cron job

You can add a cron job by following these steps:

  1. Open your Stratus management panel
  2. Click Cron to expand the section, then click Schedule
  3. Click Add New Cron to open a new cron form Cron-38

  4. To the right, fill out the form. Give your task a reference label and add the appropriate command and timing for your scheduled job.  Make sure to use full paths to binaries and other files. I.e. if you want to run mytask.php in /srv/ , the command should be /usr/bin/php /srv/mytask.php.  A good reference site for human readable scheduling is Cron Tab Guru

  5. Click the Create button at the bottom right of the form to save your task. It will run at the next scheduled time.
